Picture was great and we purchased it for its ability to play dvds from different countries. Unfortunately, it broke a little after 2 and a half months. I called Tobisha support and was on the phone with them for over 40 minutes and was told that I had to send it to Europe to get it fixed since it is a region 3 product. No one wanted to help me even though it was Tobisha’s product. If I sent this $100 machine to a service partner in Europe that would cost me more than the machine itself. After this horrible experience, I will NEVER by another Tobisha product.

I bought this DVD player at the end of December 2009. I used it all of 6 times, and when it was working it looked great and everything functioned properly. Then just the other day it stopped working (either it says the DVD is “bad” or it continues to try to load the DVD). After reading others’ reviews I should have trusted what they said instead of thinking it was a just a few unlucky people. I don’t know what my options are as from what I hear, you must send it to Europe to repair, which can cost as much as the player cost to begin with. So, my only course of action is to write this review and hope that I can prevent other unsuspecting consumers like myself from a similar experience. Toshiba, really has dropped the ball on this product and should do a recall if there is something inherently wrong with the device. If someone from Toshiba is reading this, please do something about it!

I was very pleased with the picture quality of the up-convert and the fact that it is region-free. However, it completely failed after only two weeks of use.
