The DVD worked great for about 1 month. I got a few movies from the UK that were region 2 and they played great. This lasted for about 1 month. I put in a region 2 DVD today and it stopped playing in the middle of the movie. I tried another DVD (also region 2) and it didn’t play either. I tried to go to [...] for help but because it’s multi-regional its not listed. I would like to get it fixed but I don’t know where.

I bought the Samsung P181 Multi region DVD player in mid december.
It worked fine for the first two weeks but then suddenly would not play DVDs from any region.
I noticed the the negative review on this site, and others on the internet describing similar issues.
However, I called the vendor VCT, and talked to “Eddie” from their tech support group.
He showed me how to reset the player and it is now working fine again.
Its hard to describe, but here’s what to do.
1. Power the player off, then on. (No DVD in the tray)
2.Use the remote control to press the following keys (do it slowly and carefully)
Subtitle, Repeat (not Repeat AB), 5,6,7,3,2
3.Having pressed those keys it should display the current region and ask which region you want.
4 Set the region to “0″ which is the code for region free.
5. Restart the player and it should work.
Give it a try.
