After 3 good working Philips DVDs I decided to buy Pioneer. Pioneer was Hi-Fi leader in 80s and 90s. After 6 weeks of light use, GREEN line on the right edge of my TV showed up and is still there. It is connected on HDMI output. Very annoying when you watch. Unit looks and feels very cheap. Very `plastic’ feeling.
PAL disks are working but sometimes not when I have menu with multiple shows. Unit can not pick particular show from menu.
I connected portable 40gb WD Hard Drive. HD get power from unit but unit do not read any information. Philips dvd does.
MP3 playback is poor. No ID3 track or song art. Just file name.
Buy PHILIPS! At least you wil save some money. And do not trust to incompetent reviews as I did.

The feature description says this product supports 110 & 240 voltages, but it is not. And this is not a multi region product. Don’t buy this if you these are your primary requirements.

The box states the player is a Code 1, USA player. I’ve not got any other disks handy to test for PAL or other regions, but I’m taking “the company’s word on it” that it is a multi-region player. We’ll see. Other than that, nice machine, slim line, clean, smooth player.

Love this DVD player. Worked great right out of the box. Just plug and play.
Has played everything I have put in it.
I purchased it from All Region World. The price was a little less than other sources, and although they offered free shipping, I went ahead and paid $9.12 for faster shipping. I live in Hawaii and that saved me almost $50!

I’ve had this for a bit less than a month, and so far it’s worked perfectly. I’ve had no problems with PAL Region 2 DVDs, and the DivX support (via the USB port) works well. For those unfamiliar with that feature, you can plug a USB thumbdrive into the front of the player. A very crude file browser pops up on screen, and you can navigate to any video files (in the right formats supported by the player).
One annoyance with that feature is that it only shows you the first few letters of the video file names, so you have to name the files carefully. Also, don’t create a lot of folders, because it’s time-consuming to drill down through the file structure.
Anyway, this is a good choice if you need a region-free, DivX-compatible player. I’m quite happy with it.
