  • Person delivered and unpacked. Nothing other than TV in box. He said it happens all the time and that Amazon would overnight me the missing stuff. I called Amazon and they said to refuse delivery. Samsung missed the boat here.

  • I ordered this tv about a week ago. I received the PN50b550 which upon opening the box me and the CEVA delivery guys noticed about 6 different parts of the screen were broken. I refused the delivery on that Friday. I received my replacement today on Monday (which was nice because it was fast) But guess what happened when we opened the box this time?? Screen was broke in about 4 different parts. Refused the delivery. I havent had the chance to turn on this tv. The packaging is beyond horrible! it has nothing to protect the screen from harm. I did ask for a final replacement which I do hope comes in 1 piece…but I am 90% sure it wont make it.

I do not know who to blame, CEVA or Amazon. Actually I blame Amazon for not having a carrier who can get me the item unharmed. DO NOT BUY THIS FROM AMAZON, BUy IT FROM A LOCAL RETAILER WHO YOU CAN PICK UP THE TV FROM…….I am actually a big supporter of Amazon, just still in shock of the lack of care for an item that is considered “high end”.

UPDATE: June 19,2009 The tv looks amazing and I am currently putting together a nice video review for Amazon. I am still loyal to them but I was very close to never purchasing from them again. I cannot change the star rating, but right now I would give it a 4 out of 5. (I was really mad about the delivery)

  • I SPENT DAYS LOOKING AT WHAT I WANTED, AND REALLY WANTED AN LED, BUT PRICE IS STILL A BIT HIGH, SO I GOT THIS PLASMA. IT LOOKS GREAT AND THE PICTURE IS BETTER THAN MY 6MONTH OLD SAMSUNG 46″ LCD. HD IS AMAZING TOO! FOR $1,100 YOU CAN’T BEAT IT!!!

  • Finalized the purchase at Fred Meier today after seeing the price and scooting to the library to examine online reviews and prices. The clincher was a price of$899.00, with a $50.00 rebate finishing it at $849.00…it may be low enough my wife won’t have a cow, eh? Only gave it 4 stars due to my limited time for setup, regular Dish programming and a Samsung Blueray DVD player (awsome!). Can’t wait to see what HD programming does to make this pop!

  • I bought this TV from Amazon at the end of July and it is a wonderful TV (although it has replaced an old tube Sony from the mid 90s). However I have only had it a couple days due to a 20 day delivery process from the Amazon carrier. This was due to poor communication efforts to schedule a delivery appointment. My only fear was that in other reviews, some of the Samsungs had arrived broken, but it arrived in perfect condition. I am here to rate the TV and not the delivery and it has earned its 5 stars. I have already hooked up my PS3 and watched a couple blu-rays on it and cannot wait to watch more. The sound quality is acceptable but if you are looking for a real home theatre experience then I would buy an additional system. It is a great TV but if you are looking for extra features in a TV then maybe some of the other models are right for you.
