Had high failure rate of the previous model.
Decided to buy 2 of this model to see if the
problems were resolved.

Guess what. The first unit failed out of the box
and the second was in the trash after 2 months.
Never buying a Samsung DVD ever again.

Curious if the positive reviewers' units

i really like this player. very stylish and yet works very well with my HDTV.

This machine is pretty sleek looking. We first purchased the 46″ Samsung TOC 650 series, so when I seen this, I thought it would go perfectly with the TV. It looks awesone and works great..

Considering the 90% failure rate in the first six months of this model’s predecessor (Samsung DVD-F1080) Samsung should give this sucker away free as penance and a face saver. I don’t know if they have fixed the previous unit’s flaws, but I wouldn’t take a chance until this thing has been out for a year.

We own the Samsung DVD-F1080 and take it on the road for RV’ing and hotel rooms (small enough to pack in a suitcase), but it has a bad reputation for reliability.

Maybe this model is better, but be aware that Samsung has cut some corners. For example, the power cord on the Samsung DVD-F1080 is detachable, on this model it is permanently attached to the unit. That in itself means I won’t purchase it.
