How to i get playback thought external speakers and my television through laptop?

Question by Alex Arbec: How to i get playback thought external speakers and my television through laptop?
I have my HP laptop connected to external speakers which are plugged into the speaker jack into my laptop. As well, my laptop is connected to my television via HDMI cable. As of now my music only plays through my external speakers that are connected (no music from laptop, but i don’t want that anyways). Does anybody know how to set it up so playback goes through my external speakers AND my television?

Thanks in advance.

go into Audio manger (realtek/soundmax) not the windows master volume – bottom right corner next to clock…check that the volume on the HDMI or SPDIF is’nt set to mute.

What is the best and least harmful way to clean my LCD Television screen?

Question by ineedtolearn: What is the best and least harmful way to clean my LCD Television screen?
We bought an out of the box (store display) LCD TV and it did not have the manual. I need to know how to clean the screen without damaging it.

Moisten a micro-fiber cloth with distilled water and wipe it gently over the screen surface. Don’t use paper towels or facial tissues as they can scratch. Never spray liquid on the screen and don’t use windex or alcohol.

if you have the cable box for the monitor to plug into, then you just need a converter from your monitor plug to your tv cable plug

Do you get some kind of digital cable? or Direct TV or something? with these digital cable services you do need a cable box from the company,

If you just have normal free town cable then you prob. just need something like this http://www.cnet.com/4520-7387_1-6341848-2.html?tag=tab

What is the average life span of a Sony Bravia LCD television?

Question by mend0za23: What is the average life span of a Sony Bravia LCD television?
I have a Panasonic rear-projection 60″ tv which is about to die because of the lamp. I’ve had it replaced twice already, but I don’t want to keep on paying and paying for labor which is $ 350. I plan on buying a Sony Bravia LCD tv, but my question is; how long will they last and are they good?

Best answer:

Answer by mexicotv
They are a top brand TV but there is no way to tell how long they will last. Your Panasonic was preset to die at bulb changing intervals. There is no known systematic failures of the LCD sets yet. I have seen some backlight circuit problems but not with Sony.

What is the difference between a 1080i or 1080p LCD television? Which is the better quality?

Question by diannarodgers@sbcglobal.net: What is the difference between a 1080i or 1080p LCD television? Which is the better quality?
We are shopping for LCD TV’s and wondered what the difference is between 1080i and 1080p quality?

Best answer:

Answer by Jave
1080p TVs to check out:

1. 1080p defined
1080p resolution–which equates to 1,920×1,080 pixels–is the latest HD Holy Grail. That’s because 1080p monitors are theoretically capable of displaying every pixel of the highest-resolution HD broadcasts. On paper, they should offer more than twice the resolution of today’s 1,280×720, or 720p, HDTVs, such as Samsung’s HL-P5085W. Some companies, such as LG, refer to these super-high-res of sets as ultra-HD, while others prefer to substitute true or full for ultra.

2. Why 1080p is theoretically better than 1080i
1080i, the former king of the HDTV hill, actually boasts an identical 1,920×1,080 resolution but conveys the images in an interlaced format (the i in 1080i). In a tube-based television, otherwise known as a CRT, 1080i sources get “painted” on the screen sequentially: the odd-numbered lines of resolution appear on your screen first, followed by the even-numbered lines–all within 1/30 of a second. Progressive-scan formats such as 480p, 720p, and 1080p convey all of the lines of resolution sequentially in a single pass, which makes for a smoother, cleaner image, especially with sports and other motion-intensive content. As opposed to tubes, microdisplays (DLP, LCoS, and LCD rear-projection) and other fixed-pixel TVs, including plasma and LCD flat-panel, are inherently progressive in nature, so when the incoming source is interlaced, as 1080i is, they convert it to progressive scan for display.

How can I get my LCD television to play the sound for my computer?

Question by alpha_omega00981: How can I get my LCD television to play the sound for my computer?
I have a 15 inch LCD television hooked up to my computer.I can’t get the sound to play when Im on my computer.I dont have any speakers hooked up to my computer because the LCD has speakers.I went to the volume controls and it still isnt doing no sound. What will I have to do to get sound to come out?

Best answer:

Answer by LeChiffre
I’m sure that in the settings on the computer you can change where you want the sound to come from. Search around in the control panel or something. It’s prbably set to external speakers at the moment and you’ll have to change it to coming from the TV/monitor speakers.
