Projectors don’t have any audio. You need a seperate audio system. And for that it depends on how much you want to spend.

Question by bear42095: What amplifer should i use for two 1400 watt subwoofers?
I have two 1400 watt subwoofers and was wondering how menny watt amplifier i should get. I dont know if i should get a two channel 1400 watt amp or a two channel 2400 watt amp.

Best answer:

Answer by Jake L
assuming the 1400 watt is RMS not MAX and they are 4ohm subs u could either get a mono amp which runs 2800rms at 2ohms or a 2 channel amp that runs 1400rms x 2.
try to to match the rms as best as you can.

if you want you could push 1 kicker comp vr 12 with this amp. lotsa bump for your buck.. 8′s will only put out higher bass tones better with 10 or 12 inch, to feel the bump.

Do you have 1 or 2? If you have one get an amp around 300 watts rms, and if your have 2 get something around 500-600 watts rms. Look into JL Audio amps or Rockford Fosgate.

How should speaker wire be placed in wall studs for in wall speakers?

speakers
by eric.r

Question by justme73: How should speaker wire be placed in wall studs for in wall speakers?
I’m building a house and am wiring for surround sound. I would like to place speakers in the walls and in the ceiling. How should the speaker wire be placed so I can add speakers after drywall is up and the speaker wire is hidden so it is easy to access and not impacted when they put up the drywall.

Best answer:

Answer by mikedamirault
I think it depends on the speaker, but I think that either the right or left side would be hammered to a stud (like outlet/switch boxes), but it may come with a twist rod (similar to those shower curtain rods), with claws on each end that you twist to extend until it grips into the studs, or there may be some that are light enough that instead of connecting to a stud, may just screw into the drywall

Oh, you mean the cable, sorry, I would say, if going vertical just hammer it to a stud using hammer-in staples, for going horizontal, either drill holes in the studs or run everything overhead

Q&A: How should i set my surround sound speakers to get the best bass?

Question by Julie: How should i set my surround sound speakers to get the best bass?
I have an Insignia 6.1 Channel receiver with 5 RCA 80 watt speakers and 1 RCA 80-100 Watt Subwoofer. I want to know how i can set these up for the best possible bass. I have messed around with the settings a little bit and i know i can change all of the speakers from a -10 to a +10 I am wondering how i should set these for the best bass. I have tried to turn all of the speakers down but the subwoofer, but the sound that comes through the speakers is distorted. Any help would be appreciated =)

Answer by Jefferson
You’ll have to look in the “Insignia” owner’s manual to figure this one out…But ALL home theater receivers have a special set-up menu…The section of the menu you’re looking for refers to the SIZE of your speakers.

You can set your 5 speakers to “LARGE” or “SMALL”…And you can set your Sub-woofer to “YES” or “NO”…This doesn’t refer to actual SIZE…It decides where the BASS gets played.

If you set the Sub-woofer to “YES” and the all the speakers to “SMALL”, you’ll get better bass…Also, the Sub-woofer itself has it’s own VOLUME control on it (usually).

Also, try placing the Sub-woofer in different corners of the room…You’d be surprised that moving a the sub a few inches can make it twice as loud as before…But move it around and play with it…Find the best bass possible.

Should the plasma tv be centered on the wall as the mantel and corbels are?

Question by JK: Should the plasma tv be centered on the wall as the mantel and corbels are?
We are installing a plasma tv over the fireplace on a brick wall. The fireplace is not centered. There is a mantel shelf that is maybe ten feet long and is centered with corbels. It is about seven or eight inches off center of the fireplace. Should the plasma tv be centered on the wall as the mantel and corbels are? Or should it be centered on top of the fireplace?

Answer by Insane_mad_maniak
one thing you should know, did you check in the manual were it has your plasma tv and a fireplace with a line going through it?

because heat will lessen the lifespan of it, and case it to overheat and be damaged. i’d find another place for it away from any heaters/central heating radiators.

if you really want to place it there, i’d put it in the center of the actual chimnea breast, or the center of the mantle, because it will look off center and odd if it’s not.

What kinda of speakers i should get for my home theater reciever?

Question by Robert P: What kinda of speakers i should get for my home theater reciever?
I have a Yamaha Htr 5063 and have 2 Front speakers that are 8 ohms each. The center and 2 surround speakers are 6 ohms. Does having speakers with different ohms make a difference in sound quality?

Best answer:

Answer by Kevin L
No impedance has nothing to do with the sound quality of a speaker but you will have slight volume differences but that can be adjusted with speaker level calibration settings. Make sure though that your receiver is comfortable driving speakers with lower impedance loads lower than 8 ohms. The manual or specifications will tell you. If the receiver shows that its able to deliver more power as the impedance drops then this indicates that it is using discreet output transistors (not integrated circuits which sound bad and are not very reliable). Look that it is still able to deliver more then its rated power down to at least 4 ohms.
