I looked at buying the RM6750 for a long time but eventually decided on this system. It was a little more expensive but the look and smaller sized speakers made it well worth it. The RM6750 has a fairly bulky center speaker and larger satellite speakers. The RM705 is sleek and modern looking. The sound is awesome, crystal clear and beautiful. I have a fairly large room. I had read some complaints that the subwoofer is not loud enough. Well, how loud do you need it. The bass booms and I ony have it turned up half way. I have nothing but good things to say about this system. Great system for the price. Go out and buy it, you'll be happy.

These speakers are wonderful; I wanted a good speaker system set and I took a look at forums but I'm happy I got these for about 300.

Pros:
-Subs is perfect for me
-Speaker are very beautiful and match with TV
-Sound is amazing; now I can hear the bits and the bangs of my blu-ray movies
-I have no cons so far

Tricks for good sound from these bad boys:
-Turn the sub's cross over all the way up
-Turn the phase nob to 0 degrees
-Turn the receivers cross over to 80hz

When you are done, listen to the system and if there is not enough boom from the sub turn the channel level setting on the receiver for the sub a little bit. Listen to it, turn sub level, listen and so on until you find your taste.

I purchased these speakers to pair with an Onkyo HT-RC180. The speakers arrived well packed and include all the hardware you need to wall mount them. The screw mounts for the satellites are on the bottom of the speakers, so if you plan to use them on a stand, you'll either have to attach them to the wall mounts and then attach those to the stand or find stands that accommodate a bottom mount.

The look of the speakers is outstanding. They don't overwhelm the room or the television. Once calibrated, the subwoofer provides a rich, textured bass in a small, good-looking package.

My only complaint about system is the cheap spring terminals on the satellites. They don't seem to grab the cable well. (Note that there is no speaker cable included and you'll need a traditional rca cable for the sub.) At the Amazon price, however, the speakers are worth every penny.

The RM 705 is a nicely constructed system. It is a definate upgrade to my home theatre JVC system from 6 years ago.

One design flaw in my mind is the ease or slight lack of to attach wire to the small speakers. I know in theory you only do it once but the springs could be replaced with a push/pull type grabber.

The five speakers are beautifully finished in a nice high gloss black wich picks up fingerprints like a magnet - so be prepared to wipe them off.

Bottom line is that the sound is great for the price and the minor issues of putting the syatem together is well worth it!

i have these connected to Yamaha RX-V465 and they sound amazingggggggg
these speakers are very well constructed, piano black, nice shine, good balance and well positioned connectors. the sound quality is superb. the sub produces nice and thick bass accompanied with the center speaker. just remember that the center frequency is 95Hz and the satellites are at 120Hz so make sure you setup the receiver crossover at 100Hz [instead of 80Hz] so there is a slight overlap between the sub and center. the sub crossover set to max i.e. 200Hz i found this to be the best setting for my room and specially since the sub is a downward throwing sub. they speakers come with wall mounting braces and tilt stand for the center. the only issue is the spring clips do looks fragile. overall a great buy and worth every penny especially for a beginner home theater system and that too at $299 an amazing buy
