I purchase these speakers for use with my new Denon AVR. I also purchased an Enery ESW-8 subwoofer. I cannot believe how fantastic the sound is the comes out of these speakers. I reviewed many speaker systems and I strongly recommend this system.

I wasn't expecting much from these little speakers. I was pleasantly surprised. I had purchased the 200W sub as well and it was not good. I'm running a high power receiver to drive these and they handle it well. I was worried about midrange fill but they don't really need anything except a decent sub. Great buy!

I first saw these speakers in an online review -- something about "best 5.1 speakers under $200." Of course, I was skeptical, but I was in the middle of renovating my theater room, and I was originally looking at making shelves into the wall for my old Onkyo 5.1 that had been sitting on the floor. The front L/R speakers each weigh about 20lbs. When I saw the stellar reviews for these lightweight speakers, I just figured I'd replace my Onkyo set, and retain the subwoofer. Today I finally finished setting up my whole theater room and the speakers were the last thing to get wired up. I am just shocked at the amazing sound quality from these little speakers. I'm using them with an Onkyo TX-SR507 receiver/amplifier. Before I even ran the configuration program from the Onkyo, the sound was fantastic. It was even better when I was finished. No matter where I sit in the room, it's like I'm in the sweet spot. These speakers are far better than the 6.1 set that came with my "theater in a box" which I originally spent $800 on. I would recommend these as a replacement for any surround set probably up to $1K or so. I probably should have bought a second set of these and opted for the SR557 receiver. That way I would've used the four extra Energy satellites for the two "high front" speakers, and two rear surrounds. But just this inexpensive 5.1 setup I have right now just fills the whole room with fantastic sound. My family was equally amazed that all the sound was coming from these little speakers. You've read all the other reviews here. They're only $199. What are you waiting for?

The speakers work great. I would have hoped that Energy spent a little more time in putting together a good manual. The manual is but a couple of pages with the bare minimum information.

There's no audio cables included. You will need to familiarize yourself with the different cable grades and make a decision on how much to spend for these, the lower gauge/thicker wires tending toward better sound.

I was disappointed in Amazon not displaying how long it would take to ship with the 'free shipping' option. It took a week before the item shipped out from Amazon. Had I known, I would have bought this item from another reputable site at the same price with free shipping and had it shipped the next working day.

These speakers are nice when they worked. I had to send each and every one of them to service. They even charge you to ship the units back to you. The service manager at the HQ is very rude, too. I will not buy Energy products again.
