I am totally amazed with this systems power and sound quality. For the money I spent, I got a system that out preforms the more high end systems.

For years I have searched for a Home Theater system with everything. 1st I bought the Onkyo dvd home surround sound system that came with a SKW 240 sub woofer. The system sounded incredible but the volume only went so high and this was a 600$ plus system. The CD player would not play cds if the minimal amount of scratch was on them.

2. I bought the Cambridge Sound Works Home theater. The speakers are out of this world but once again the volume. No powered sub woofer came with this. Again the CD player would not play some movies. I firmly believe a good CD player with good over sampling can play CDS with some scuffle on them. I have a Panasonic DVD player dvd-f87 and this baby plays them all. You want separation and and not that loud quality this would be good for you.

3. I owned the 321 bose surround sound system. I loved this system the sound quality is to die for. BUT….You have no choices in hall sound, Roxy theater, sports, entertainment…Etc. Also you can’t mix components you buy Bose it only works best with their own systems.

4. Here comes 4. Yamaha home theater system. This system blew me away.

When you look for a system always RMS is the thing you want. A 20 rms speaker sounds better than any 100 watt rating because rms is the peak response which you hear. This Yamaha system screams RMS. This system came with no powered sub woofer so I used that onkyo SKW 250.

This system comes with 100 watts RMS per speaker. That means it will wake up your neighbors on the next block. ( I have a pioneer 300 Rms you don’t want to get into that).

With this system you can adjust the treble and the bass and adjust that sound to the point of where you are sitting in your chair. The directions tell you what size room your in adjust the setting so. You need to read. Sorry.

This system comes with dolby, dolby surround, Roxy theater, hall. Vienna hall, sports, entertainment, pop,rock,jazz, general, multi channel…etc I don’t think I have tried them all.

Once again use a shielded 16 gauge wire and I must stress the difference using these cables at peak power makes to sound quality.

Yamaha speakers are great but you want better, Infinity(make sure of the Rms rating or you will fry them). Infinity is too expensive? are you ready, Pioneer, they make the best speaker for the price anywhere and they hold up period. Always look at the magnet at the end the bigger the better always!

Yamaha in my experience is the best Home theater system out there. You could go Bose and I won’t argue that but the price difference and choices in sound goes to Yamaha. Honestly with an Onkyo or a Pioneer you won’t go wrong they are right there. My truth is Yamaha makes the best for the price out there. I posted this because too many people lie about products today for their own interest. I love music and movies.. you deserve it. PS you need to read directions. If you can’t don’t buy it.

This is admittedly an entry level system but Yamaha information and support is very disappointing. Just to give two examples, the remote cannot be programmed to control my Cablevision box or my Panasonic BD player. I bought an iPod YDS 11 Dock from Amazon after being told by Yamaha support that it was 100% compatible with my HTR-6130 receiver but, after 10 days of ‘phone-calls and (unanswered) e-mails, I was finally told by a Yamaha technician that I had been misinformed and no on-screen displays are possible with the (entry-level) 6130 and no photographs or videos can be displayed either. I would have to move up to the 6150 for total compatibility. Of course, the 6150 would also not require additiomal toslink and digital audio coaxial cables. To sum up, Yamaha product information is appalling.

Since it has not been delivered yet (16 days from order) I’m giving it a single star. The seller ships late and requires signature on delivery even though it’s less than the $400 that triggers Amazon to signature verify. Save yourself the trouble, buy it from a real store, not Amazon.
